Composition of Stressoxan dog

Stressoxan dog contains ingredients important for feeding dogs with symptoms of stress and anxiety: neurotransmitter precursors and bioflavonoids with antioxidant properties.

L-Tryptophan – is an essential amino acid present in the synthesis of numerous proteins in the body and a precursor of neurotransmitters. L-tryptophan contained in Stressoxan dog, after absorption in the dog’s digestive tract, crosses the blood-brain barrier and is then converted to 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP). This conversion is catalysed by vitamin B6. The 5-HTP is then converted to serotonin.

Hibiscus syriacus extract standardised to 40% gossypin content supports your pet’s body in situations of stress or anxiety. Gossypin (3,5,7,8,3′,4′-Hexahydroxyflavone-8-glucoside) is a ligand for γ-aminobutyric acid type A (GABAA) receptors. In addition, gossypin also exhibits antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.

New Year’s Eve and Christmas vs. the dog

Screaming and noise are important factors that contribute to a dog’s behavioural disorders. It has long been known that an excessively noisy environment is bad for animals, dogs in particular. The New Year’s Eve and carnival period is one of those times when dogs experience horror. Exploding and loud fireworks make the pets shake with fear or run nervously in search of a safe, quiet place. This can even cause your dog to have epileptic seizures, which are life-threatening.

There are several ways to help your dog during New Year’s Eve and Christmas. Firstly, remember to avoid going for walks with your pet on New Year’s Eve. Go for a walk in the morning. Secondly, you should cover the windows so that your dog cannot see the fireworks. You should also remember to prepare a place for your dog where it will feel safe. It’s also a good idea to use specialised formulations that reduce your dog’s hyperactivity on New Year’s Eve and Christmas and allow it to experience them in comfort and peace.

What are the causes of hyperactivity among dogs?

One of the basic needs of every dog is contact with other dogs. In the current situation with the coronavirus pandemic, this might be difficult. Socialising with other dogs allows them to learn proper social behaviour. Sniffing, chewing, digging and running are important in building correct behaviour. Long walks, during which dogs satisfy not only their physiological needs, but also any motor needs, have a positive effect. A dog playground or a special track with obstacles and tunnels will also be a good place.

Prolonged absence of the owners from home has a negative effect on the dog’s behaviour. The feeling of loneliness causes hyperactivity. This phenomenon is referred to as separation anxiety in the dog. It is related to stress that occurs when the dog is left alone unattended. When the owner returns home, the dog gets too excited, runs and jumps on the furniture. This is often underestimated and perceived as joy at the sight of its owner. However, such a reaction should draw your attention and make you watch your dog in other situations.

Another frequently observed reason for hyperactivity and fear among animals is travelling with the dog. While travelling, symptoms such as vomiting or aggression may occur. Often the mere sight of a muzzle is enough for the dog to experience negative emotions that affect its behaviour. Travelling also means having to adapt to a new place, which can be difficult for the dog. A new place, unfamiliar people, noises – all this creates a sense of discomfort among our four-legged friends.
