4th Women in Veterinary Congress

Kongres Kobiet Weterynarii

On October 5th, we had the opportunity to participate in the 4th Women in Veterinary Congress. This is an incredibly important event dedicated to women working in this field.

The female face of veterinary medicine
According to statistics, over 50% of veterinary professionals in Poland are women, and female graduates make up nearly 80% of students completing veterinary studies in our country. Among the 485 members of the Small Animal Veterinary Association, 285 are women (58.7%). However, out of the 30 members of the National Veterinary Chamber, only 5 are women.* This is a significant disparity.

Development, integration, and motivation
The statistics clearly show that the future of the industry belongs to women. That’s why initiatives that support their development, motivate them to take action, and provide tools needed to build confidence and grow potential are so essential. The Women in Veterinary Congress is also an event that addresses the issues and challenges that women in the veterinary field encounter in their daily work.

Innovation, safe practice, and soft skills – key themes of this year’s edition
This year’s edition covered topics such as assertiveness, the ability to speak positively about oneself and one’s achievements, stress management, and workspace optimization. Equally important presentations focused on medical errors, the safety of veterinary medicinal products, and managing social media profiles for veterinary clinics. We also had the opportunity to contribute to this wealth of knowledge. Przemysław Lekan, Marketing Manager of the VEBIOT brand, gave a presentation on designing modern solutions in veterinary medicine and innovations led by women.

Once again, we were reminded of the strength of female leaders in this field and left the Congress with a sense that the future of veterinary medicine is in good hands.
